PUTRAJAYA LAUNCHES NEW WORLD CUP POSTER
September 25th, 2008 by des
Putrajaya Poster From the outset, the organising team behind the November 7-9 World Cup Stop at Putrajaya in Malaysia has impressed. Hannifah Yoong, whose son Alex rose to fame as a successful Formula 1 driver and also as a very good Skier, is the driving force on the ground. His past experience has proven to be a major bonus for our World Cup team. Today, the team in Putrajaya launched their formal World Cup Poster and this will now be used to accellerate the building of the brand as we approach the World Cup date at this beautiful site. As it will also be available as a Webcast, those who are not fortunate enough to be able to visit Putrajaya will be able to enjoy every moment as a spectator – AT HOME !  More details on that later.

WORLD CUP SKIER CHRIS PARRISH PUSHES THE LIMITS
September 22nd, 2008 by des
Chris Parrish and that Suit Anybody watching the Olympic Games will have seen how the Swimmers and Track & Field athletes have made enormous efforts with the development of special clothing and suits to give them the edge in very competitive fields. In many ways, it is surprising that our Skiers have made such enormous progress with equipment innovations but virtually none in the clothing department. In fact, it could be argued that fashion trends have reversed the forward movement. Coming out of the water with baggy Bermudas gathering buckets full of water and air just looks odd to some eyes. Only our Jumpers, with their Speed Suits, seem to be focussed on the challenge. Along comes World Slalom Record Holder Chris (Tower) Parrish. At the final stop of the MasterCraft ProTour yesterday...

WORLD CUP STAR EQUALS WORLD SLALOM RECORD
September 22nd, 2008 by des
Karina Nowlan (AUS) scores 1 buoy on 10.25m line Just a few minutes ago at the last Stop of the 2008 MasterCraft ProTour in California, World Cup star Karina Nowlan (AUS) scored 1 buoy on the 10.25m line / 41 off to tie the World Slalom Record set back in September 1996 by Kristi Overton Johnson (USA). The fact that she reached the 10.75m line/ 39 off three times on the same day gives a clear indication that we may well see a new World Record as soon as the water conditions allow. Congratulations Karina from all the World Cup Team. The next WATERSKI Stop in the 2008 World Cup series will be on November 7/9 in Putrajaya Malaysia. The next WAKEBOARD Stop will be in Singapore on October 10/12.
