Natalia Berdnikova sets new World Record

World Cup Star Natalia Berdnikova has had an extraordinary career on the water by any standards. It all began in the City of Novopolotsk in Belarus.  This just also happens to be the home of World Shortboard Champion Aliaksei Zharnasek, Herman Beliakou and Oleg Devioatovski.  Natalia now holds the Belarus National Records in Slalom, Shortboard and Jump. She took the EAME Shortboard titles in 2008 and 2009 and also the US Masters Shortboard title in 2008. Her most recent World Cup success was her recent Jump gold medal in Liuzhou City in China. Natalia Berdnikova scored 9080 points in Shortboard at the Fluid Fall Finale in Polk City, Florida, USA. The IWWF Tournament Council used a new and innovative record review process which had Natalia’s Shortboard runs judged by a panel of 13 International Class judges including the tournament judges and judges from each of the IWWF Regions. This was all carried out by video and brings a much broader international level of scoring to our sport. Congratulations to our World Cup Star, Natalia Berdnikova, on her new Shortboard World Record of 9080 points. Watch out for her return to the World Cup series again in 2010.
