WORLD CUP SKIER CHRIS PARRISH PUSHES THE LIMITS
Chris Parrish and that Suit

Chris Parrish and that Suit

Anybody watching the Olympic Games will have seen how the Swimmers and Track & Field athletes have made enormous efforts with the development of special clothing and suits to give them the edge in very competitive fields. In many ways, it is surprising that our Skiers have made such enormous progress with equipment innovations but virtually none in the clothing department. In fact, it could be argued that fashion trends have reversed the forward movement. Coming out of the water with baggy Bermudas gathering buckets full of water and air just looks odd to some eyes. Only our Jumpers, with their Speed Suits, seem to be focussed on the challenge. Along comes World Slalom Record Holder Chris (Tower) Parrish. At the final stop of the MasterCraft ProTour yesterday in California, USA, he appeared on stage wearing a swimmers type long-john. Just take a closer look at this great photo taken by Todd Ristorcelli. Not only can these suits reduce atmospheric drag, but some can be designed to also inmprove blood flow to vital areas. Chris is understandably cautious about this at the moment but he has certainly opened up a new area  which was crying out for attention. Well done Chris and we look forward to further updates. By the way, Chris is definitely back to full form again and will be worth watching very closely at our Putrajaya Malaysia World Cup Stop on November 7/9
