Worlds Slalom Titles at stake in Dubna

With the Waterski World Championships just over two weeks away and the World Cup Stops kicking in soon after, being aware of entry deadlines, organiser instructions, etc., is absolutely critical. Missing deadlines can be painful for all. For our athletes, to make life easier, we have inserted a new Link here on the right side of this Home Page. One click, and you will get right through to the crucial World Cup updates and details.

Most of our World Cup Stars will be in Dubna in Russia to battle for the titles of World Champion during the week of July 18th. This will be a great opportunity to see who is on top at this early stage of the 2011 season. Certainly, our Shortboard athletes have been extraordinary this year with World Records falling from month to month. A women’s score of 10,000 points now looks entirely possible. Clementine Lucine FRA and Natalia Berdnikova BLR will have us all on our toes in Dubna with their shared performances of 9,690 points. In the Mens Shortboard event, Aliaksei Zharnasek BLR has for the first time nudged ahead of the great Nicolas LeForestier FRA with his new World Record of  12,570. Our Slalom and Jump events will be equally thrilling. Unfortunately, we will not have a Webcast from Dubna but the scores will be uploaded live and full reports and photos will follow both here and on our Federation site.
