DUBNA TO MAKE WORLD CUP HISTORY NEXT WEEK
July 16th, 2008 by des
Next week, on July 24/26, the City of Dubna in Russia will have the distinction of hosting more World Cup Stops than any other on the international circuit today. This 5th year will highlight the significant impact the event has had on the City itself and also attract a host of new talent to this exclusive Waterski event. Dubna is renowned as one of Russia’s leading Science cities and is currently constructing a major IT Technopark. Up to five years ago, Dubna also had a strong and distinguished domestic Waterski history as the first Waterski World Cup arrived on site. Today, it is seen around the world not just as a very competent host of the World Cup series but also as a major location for future international water sports events. It has already been declared as Russia’s Watersports...

RUSSIA – COUNTDOWN REALLY HOTS UP FOR DUBNA
July 14th, 2008 by des
Any Waterski World Cup competitor who has ever performed at the Dubna, Russia Stop, has returned with one dominating memory – and that is the huge number of enthusiastic spectators in the purpose built Volga River arena. To experience 30,000 cheering Russian fans is something very, very special indeed. Actually qualifying for the World Cup in either Waterski or Wakeboard is the hardest part. Unless the Skiers or Riders are close to the top of their game, entry is just not possible. The result is that there is always a very large waiting list. This is managed on an hour-to-hour basis by Bob Corson, IWSF TC Chairman, based in New Jersey, USA. The reason for this is that injuries and travel problems can occur at any time. One drops out – and another then gets a chance if...

WORLD CUP FORGES AHEAD WITH MEDIA EXPOSURE
July 14th, 2008 by des
Mediadvice LLC and Videosol London are professional companies involved in the business of measuring TV impact for specific sports. These have included the America’s Cup, Universiade in Korea, FISU, Wrestling, etc. Our Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup team hired their services to assess our TV performance for the 2007 season. The resulting statistics contain some major surprises. One of the main objectives of our World Cup team in 2007 was to maximize TV station reach via our SPECIAL News and Highlights productions. Every World Cup Stop receives the full treatment ! It is estimated that over 80% of TV contacts made are achieved via short News items rather than via full TV magazine shows. We set out to take advantage of this proven fact. According to Mediadvice LLC and Videosol London,...
