WORLD CUP SERIES HAS PERFECT 2009 FINALE IN PUTRAJAYA MALAYSIA

WHAT A PERFECT WAY TO FINISH OUR 2009 WORLD CUP SEASON This 29th Stop of the Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup Series ended with perfection on many fronts. In temperatures reaching 35C, the 51 athletes from 15 countries were provided with outstanding facilities in Putrajaya Malaysia for this last event of the 2009 World Cup calendar. Based at the Putrajaya Watersports Complex, a short distance from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, an estimated 20,000 spectators attended over the November 7/8 weekend. As a vacation destination, it is certainly one not to be missed ! BIG DAY FOR FRANCE AT THE PUTRAJAYA WORLD CUP STOP

PUTRAJAYA WORLD CUP STOP SEES SOME GREAT FRENCH TALENT TODAY Early morning on the Starting Dock Today the first of the Preliminaty Rounds kicked off at 11.00hrs in glorious sunshine and 32C temperatures. As Round Four of the Malaysia Waterski Championships came to an end and the young Riders and Skiers came ashore, the World Cup Women and Anais Amade tops the Prelims with 2 at 11.25m Men Slalom Skiers took to the water. The Women were fighting to take one of the 4 Finals places and the Men chased one of their 6 places. The World Cup Webcast with 8 cameras, a large Jumbotron Screen in the Grandstand and all the latest technology, brought the Marion Aynaud tops Shortboard Prelims with 7610 points closeup details to the worldwide audience. FINAL DAY OF PREPARATION FOR PUTRAJAYA WORLD CUP

Friday began with some dark clouds in the sky and hot rain here in tropical Putrajaya Malaysia just north of the Equator. However, the 34C temperature did not stop either the Official Practice or final preparations. Thanks to some good management by Chief Judge Nikki Lee USA and a very professional group of World Cup Skiers, the Official Practice was completed on time before 18.00hrs. Well done to all. This was a glorious day here in Putrajaya. Hot sunshine and good skiing conditions created the perfect welcome for our World Cup athletes as they arrived from 15 countries around the world. IWWF Homologator Nigel Talamo GBR and Organiser Hanifah Yoong and his team put the finishing touches to the Jump and Slalom courses as the sun set beyond the Putrajaya City skyline. WATERSKI & WAKEBOARD WORLD CUP WEBCAST AND TIMETABLE RELEASED FOR FINAL 2009 STOP IN PUTRAJAYA MALAYSIA Putrajaya World Cup site is ready for the final Stop of 2009 The world’s top Waterski athletes from 15 countries are now converging on Kuala Lumpur’s International Airport for the short ride to Putrajaya. PENDING WORLD RECORD FOR WORLD CUP STAR NATALIA

NEW PENDING LADIES WORLD SHORTBOARD RECORD Just minutes ago, Natalia Berdnikova BLR created history – or at least pending history ! Competing in Central Florida today, Natalia scored 9080 points. This makes her the first woman in the world to ever score more than 9000 points. Clementine Lucine FRA and Natalia Berdnikova BLRBehind this extraordinary performance is a fascinating sequence of events. Natalia was injured a year ago. While working on her recovery, Clementine Lucine FRA also hit the headlines over and over again. We have lost count with the number of pending World Shortboard Records she scored. She did get a confirmed 8840 points to take the World Record – but also scored 8930 points which did not pass the Judges final decision. Certainly, World Cup star Clementine...

NEW WORLD GOLD MEDALS FOR WORLD CUP STARS

WORLD U21 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MEXICO SEES SUCCESS FOR WORLD CUP STARS AS THEY NOW HEAD FOR PUTRAJAYA MALAYSIA The World U21 Waterski Championships in Mexico were a great success last week and in particular for two of our World Cup Stars. Now on their very long flight from Mexico to Putrajaya Malaysia for our World Cup Stop this coming weekend, some very happy athletes have gold medals in their suitcases ! Nancy Chardin FRA competed in our World Cup Stops last year in Dubna Russia and in Putrajaya Nancy Chardin FRA takes Gold in MexicoMalaysia. Last weekend she jumped 50.5m to take the Gold Medal at the World U21 Championships in Mexico. She took fourth place in the World Cup Stop in Putrajaya in 2008 and will now be pushing hard for a podium place on her return this coming weekend. Congratulations...
