August 17th, 2008 by des
Leaving the Pyramids and Sphinx behind in Cairo and its 25 million residents, this Wakeboard World Cup Stop took place on the turquoise blue waters of the eastern Mediterranean Sea at Hacienda Bay.  By any standards, this Palm Hills project is a huge development and is certain to change the entire landscape in the coming years. Luxury Villas and Apartments will overlook the golden beaches. With the swimming pools and refreshment areas already complete, this was the perfect World Cup backdrop. World Cup Riders visit the Pyramids With unusual weather patterns now almost commonplace globally, the beach area location for the event developed rough water in the early part of the Preliminary Round. WORLD CUP STAR DALLAS FRIDAY DRAMA TODAY
August 12th, 2008 by des
Dallas Friday Drama We have just received word from Darla Friday, mother of our great World Cup Wakeboard Star, Dallas Friday, that some drama almost prevented her from boarding her Plane to join us at our World Cup Stop today in Egypt. Last Friday in Milwaukee, USA, Dallas picked up an eye infection. By yesterday morning, Monday, her eye was swollen shut. However, as a total athlete, she did not let this prevent her from boarding her Plane and is expected to land at Cairo Airport at 14.25hrs today, Tuesday. All will be done to help as best possible when she arrives. Hats off to Dallas – and we wish her and all the Riders a wonderful Palm Hills Developments World Cup Stop here in Egypt.

Where did the stories come from ? While the No. 1 Rider in the World today, Dallas Friday, has fully recovered from an injury earlier this year, gossip suggested that she might not attend next week’s Palm Hills Developments Wakeboard World Cup Stop at Hacienda Bay in Egypt. Today, her mother confirmed for us that Dallas is in fact in peak form and is riding very well at the moment. Having already taken the Masters and Malibu titles this year – plus the Wakeboard World Cup title in Singapore and the World Cup season title last year, this ex-gymnast is going to be as tough as ever to beat in Egypt. Watch these pages for all the action, great photos and a full report.
