IWWF invited to take part in China’s first International Sports Resources Marketing and Service Trade Fair in Beijing.    By the year 2015, China has set a target of generating $600 billion of Service Trade. During the inaugural Fair last week in Beijing, a total of 458 contracts were signed worth an estimated $60 billion. The Fair comprised an enormous exhibition and top level auditorium presentations. The IWWF was represented by IWWF President Kuno Ritschard, IWWF Vice President Thomas Lin and Des Burke-Kennedy, Media & Marketing Chairman.   Thanks to the help of the State Water Sports Development Company, an information booth was provided where details of the World Cup and WAKEBOARD 2020 VISION opportunities were displayed for the thousands of visitors. TWENTY YEAR OLD NATIONAL TRICKS RECORD FINALLY FALLS ! Natalia Rumyantseva at the 2011 World Championships Way back in 1979, Russia’s Natalia Rumyantseva caught international headlines with a new World Tricks Record of 5,900 points. What followed was a great ding-dong between Natalia and Venezuela’s Anna Maria Carrasco. Both were extraordinary athletes. Anna Maria broke the World Record nine times and Natalia broke it twice in 1979 and again in 1980 , 1982 and 1983. She finally pushed her score to 7850 points and that remained a National Tricks Record in Russia for a total of 20 years ! WORLD CUP TV PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION PLAN AGREED FOR 2012 Kuno Ritschard, Alan Morton and Des Burke-Kennedy In January every year, we meet Alan Morton in London, Chief Executive of ProActive TV, to agree plans for both the production and global distribution of our World Cup TV series. Having now completed together a total of 32 edited TV shows with ProActive, the process has been streamlined to ensure that no matter where the World Cup Stops take us, the same tight deadlines are met. IWWF President Kuno Ritschard and Marketing Chairman Des Burke-Kennedy are now working with ProActive to expand the global distribution of the 26 minute edited World Cup show.
