MEDIA TALENTS OF WORLD CUP SLALOM STAR SEEN BY MILLIONS !
Our World Cup Slalom Star and past World Slalom Champion, Thomas Degasperi (ITA), is an athlete with an increasingly large Media following. Last March he starred on RAI TV in Italy (40% market share) in Dancing
with the Stars. While this forced him to miss the famous Moomba Masters Waterski competition in Melbourne, the famous dancer Natalia Maidiuk brought Thomas to the Living Rooms of most of Italy as he danced as never before ! Very impressive.
Now we see Thomas Degasperi hit the headlines yet again. Italy’s oldest Football Club which was founded in 1893, is the Genoa Football Club. They have won the Serie A title nine times and have just signed with Lotto Sport Italia as their main sponsor for the next 2 years. This is major news in the world of Football. This year, both Lotto Sport Italia and Genoa Football Club wanted to create a very different presentation of the unveiling of their new official Club Team shirt. In a surprise move, Lotto Sport Italia, who just happen to also be Thomas’s sponsor, asked him to star in this presentation of the new Genoa Football Club Team jersey for the
2012/13 season. Genova is a very important Italian and European port and seen by many as a real water City. The unveiling ceremony was attended by 10 National TV Stations, including Media Set, SKY and RAI, plus all of Italy’s major magazines and newspaper. What none of them knew was that Thomas would suddenly arrive in true Slalom style on the water for all to see – wearing the new Genoa Football Club shirt, of course ! He skied three impressive passes in front of all the assembled cameras and then dropped before the Media for a really perfect photo opportunity. This was followed by a Press Conference – with Thomas Degasperi centre stage once again.
Our World Cup Slalom Star is known to almost all in our sport of over 30 million participants. Now he has also become a household name not only to Italy’s high profile Dancers but also to its many great Footballers ! Congratulations Thomas and thank you for keeping our great sport in the headlines once again.
