WORLD CUP 2011 STOPS JUST AROUND THE CORNER

WORLD CUP HEADING FOR SARAWAK AND CHINA WORLD CUP 2011 KICKS OFF IN AUGUST With 30 successful Stops completed, numbers 31, 32 are just around the corner and again, the venues are the stuff of exotic travel brochures ! The World Cup Stop scheduled for Bogota, Colombia on August 13/15 has been postponed due to local political issues. This was quite a disappointment for our athletes and fans and it is hoped that it will reappear on the World Cup calendar again soon. On September 16/18, the World Cup will head for yet another great downtown location and this time it will be at sea level. The venue will be in the City of Kuching on the Sarawak River in Borneo with its beautiful riverside esplanade providing perfect viewing for all. WORLD CUP STAR AND YOUNG FUTURE PROSPECT HIT THIS WEEK’S HEADLINES Aliaksei just 80 points short of the World Record After 30 successful World Cup Stops, two Men have dominated most of our Shortboard events in recent years. Nicolas LeForestier FRA holds the World Record which he set in 2005 at 12,400 points. Now recovered from injury, we look forward to having him back with us soon. Last weekend we received reports that his great World Cup challenger, Aliaksei Zharnasek BLR, has just clocked up a score of 12,320 – just 80 points short of that World Record ! AGREEMENT ANNOUNCED IN KUCHING FOR WORLD CUP STOP 2011 This is that time of the year when long-haul flights and dawn-till-dusk discussions come to a head as the World Cup Calendar negotiations again near conclusion. With 30 successful World Cup Stops already completed, the calendar for 2011 is almost ready for release.
