New Name And Logo For Major Water Sports Federation

NEW NAME AND LOGO FOR MAJOR WATER SPORTS FEDERATION   The International Water Ski Federation (IWSF) was founded in 1946 in Geneva, Switzerland. As the world governing body for Towed Water Sports, it is also recognized as the sole authority for both Waterski and Wakeboard by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The IWSF represents 90 National Federations in Asia / Australasia, Europe, Africa, Middle East, North America, Central America and South America, with approximately 52,000 competitors and 30 million active participants.   Following careful consideration and a half-century of development and growth, the Executive Board of the IWSF announced that the name International Water Ski Federation (IWSF), will immediately be changed to : INTERNATIONAL WATERSKI & WAKEBOARD...

IWWF World Wakeboard Championships Titles Awarded In Chuncheon City Korea To Australia, Italy, Japan And USA

By all reports over this past week, the 2009 Wakeboard World Championships of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) in Chuncheon City in South Korea were one of the most successful and enjoyable to date. The combination of the very picturesque Lake Uiam site, first class organization by the Korea Waterski and Wakeboard Association, sponsorship by MasterCraft,  and outstanding performances by the athletes, set the standards for many future events to come. Some Riders from 25 countries are returning home with medals but all are returning home with many happy memories. While most of the Riders from the competing nations had high expectations, the final gold medals were dominated by four of the 25 competing countries.   Riders from 25 countries around the world were given a very warm welcome as they arrived this week at Chuncheon City located in the northeast of South Korea for the 2009 Wakeboard World Championships. Calgary World Waterski Championships Produces Some Stunning Results And Great Drama

The site preparation at the picturesque Predator Bay Club on the outskirts of Calgary was first class. With 175 athletes from 35 countries listed, the 2009 Waterski World Championships were an outstanding spectacle. Poor weather conditions early in the week posed an extra challenge. Glorious sunshine for the last two days made the Finals all the more enjoyable. Enormous Print, TV and Radio coverage captured the headlines all week long in Canada’s oil capital. The Championships had three parts – the Preliminary Rounds, the Saturday Finals and the Sunday Finals. Over 10,000 Spectators Enjoy The Drama And Thrills Of Waterski World Cup In Dubna Russia

  This was the 27th Stop of the Waterski and Wakeboard World CupSeries and the sixth to be staged in the spectacular Volga River site in Dubna City in the Region of Moscow. To date the World Cup series has awarded over $2.5 million to the winners. MasterCraft have been the official boat sponsors in all 27 World Cup Stops to date. This Dubna Stop included Shortboard /Tricks and Jump for both Men and Women. In glorious 32C sunshine, Shortboard / Tricks came first. In a very surprising Womens Semi Finals, World Record holder Clementine Lucine FRA failed to make the cut to the Finals. Moscow’s two international Airports were busier than usual today with the arrival of the Waterski World Cup athletes from twelve countries making their way to the city of Dubna for the first World Cup Stop of the 2009 season. The impressive huge roadside posters advertising the event, plus the excellent weather forecast,  should ensure that the 30,000 seats waiting at the Volga River stadium will be full on this Saturday and Sunday.
