THE DREAM COMES TRUE FOR JUNE FLADBORG

EIGHT YEAR OLD RECORD SHATTERED BY WORLD CUP STAR AND NOW APPROVED

Just look at that determination !

Just look at that determination !

Where were you in the Summer of 2002 ?  Were you by any chance at a Waterski competition in Rio Linda in California on July 21st ?  If so, you will remember that Elena Milakova RUS / now Mrs Elena Thomsen, set a new World Jump Record of 56.6m. This was such an extraordinary performance that it took EIGHT years to beat !

In August of this year, World Cup Star June Fladborg DEN arrived at Hazelwwod’s Cray Valley site in the UK for the annual ProAm Waterski Championships with her Coach Ray Stokes AUS. As this was one of the last major events of 2010, June continued to chase her lifetime ambition to eventually break that 2002 World Jump Record. This was to be her special day !

World Cup Star is definitely No.1 right now

June had a fantastic set. Her best was declared on the day at 57.4m – and her lifetime wish had now come true. As usual, the details were sent to the World Tournament Council for ratification – but all was not in order and June had to bite her finger nails till this week. The great news for our World Cup Star is that June Fladborg has made history by finally breaking that 2002 World Record – with a small adjustment. The actual approved distance was 57.1m – a full half meter beyond the huge performance of Elena Milakova in 2002.

Congratulations June and Ray from all your World Cup fans – and we look forward to seeing you back on the water with us again when our 2011 World Cup Calendar kicks off in the new year.
