Waterski World Cup Stop In Northern Ireland This Weekend Attracts Five World Champions To Enniskillen

WATERSKI WORLD CUP STOP IN NORTHERN IREALND THIS WEEKEND ATTRACTS FIVE WORLD CHAMPIONS TO ENNISKILLEN

Just one week ago, the new 2007 Waterski World Champions earned their titles in Austria. This coming weekend, they will face their first major test in the final  Waterski World Cup Stop of 2007. The possibility of adding the title of World Cup Champion is guaranteed to produce some stunning performances.

The location at Broadmeadows in Enniskilen in Northern Ireland is one of the most picturesque of the nineteen World Cup Stops completed to date. Virtually all of the 50 athletes enlisted have participated here during the past three years. The countries represented next weekend will be France, Greece, Great Britain, USA, Italy, Belarus, New Zealand, Denmark, Mexico, Belgium, Colombia, Canada, Chile, Australia and Argentina.

The event itself will be screened a week later and an estimated 200 million TV viewers will enjoy the spectacle. A special edited News item will be delivered to 400 million viewers within a few hours of the Podium presentations on Sunday evening. SKYSPORTS, Setanta and others will present the highlights in Europe. http://www.wcsn.com/ will make it available in North America. FOXSPORTS will deliver it in Australia, the Middle East and South America.

With over 30 million Waterski participants in the World, only those ranked in the top twenty are eligible to compete for the coveted title of World Cup Champion. In Slalom, Thomas Degasperi (ITA) will thrill the audience in his first performance since winning his World Champion title just a few days ago. In Shortboard, both World Champions will take on the field. The French athletes Nicolas LeForestier and Clementine Lucine may even display their Gold Medals to the knowledgeable Enniskillen fans. In Jump, a thriller is guaranteed. Freddy Krueger (USA) took the 2006 Enniskillen World Cup Stop Jump title in style with a distance of 68.2m. However, in Dubna in Russia three weeks ago, it was Jaret Llewellyn (CAN) who took that Waterski World Cup Stop Jump title. In the meantime, Krueger reclaimed the World Champion Jump title from Llewellyn in Austria last Sunday afternoon. Ageliki Andriopoulou (GRE) will also have to fend off another challenge from Denmark’s June Fladborg. Last year the Greek athlete won by just a single meter. Even the coolest of sports fans will not want to miss this clash of the Waterski Jump titans on Sunday at Broadmeadows in Enniskillen in Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland Events, Waterways Ireland, Fermanagh District Council will join MasterCraft as the supporting sponsors. MasterCraft will again supply all the competition boats and support services. They have provided all the equipment in the nineteen World Cup Stops to date. A final attraction to see will be the launch of yet another piece of sophisticated electronic technology invented in Ireland. What it does is a mystery and all will be revealed for the first time when the programme commences on Saturday morning. Full results details will be posted on http://www.iwsf.com/

Screenings will also appear on http://www.wcsn.com/

Watch also for the TV listings on SKYSPORTS, Setanta and Others.
